We Provide Lesson Plans for Life

Step By Step Children’s Learning Center approaches each child’s learning experience differently. We know that children learn differently,, so we work to customize their experience.

We begin when the child enters the Baby Bunny Room – our staff engages each child with certain rudimentary physical and cognitive activities like “tummy time”, where the child is given one on one attention.

Another daily activity, found in every room, is is story time, which teaches young children about communication and expressive language. By reading to children your child is learning critical language and annunciation skills; prereading skills; and the ability to grab abstract concepts.

As your child grows, each of the room’s instructors introduces new ideas and skills, supporting them with interactive lesson plans and activities, which entertain and teach.

The curriculum used by our personnel has been approved by the State of Maryland and is based upon the Social Development Theory, which posits that learning is built level by level. Lesson plans and other teaching aids are supplied by education leader Houghton Mifflin.

Our goal is to meet the needs of every child’s development. Language and cognitive skills develop through activities like circle time, story time, and art lessons.

We also pay attention to a child’s social development – manners and social skills are taught at snack time and meal time. Outdoor activities help develop small and large muscle groups, and encourage teamwork.

In addition to the educational prospect, children participate in creative projects and get plenty of fresh air and sunshine on our playground.

A sampling of programs we currently offer include:
• Baby Signs sign language
• Spanish lessons
• Musician Michael Morgan
• Rebounders
• Soccer Shots
• Read Rover
• Visiting entertainment, including magicians, balloon fun and a traveling zoo
